Women's Patrick Flegel Treats Debut EP with Androgynous Mind to Vinyl Release

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 30, 2013

Since the implosion of Women in 2010, guitarist/vocalist Patrick Flegel has kept busy by moving out to Vancouver and playing in bands like Fels-Naptha, Cindy Lee and Androgynous Mind. In 2012, the latter released a digital-only EP called Nightstalker, but a limited-edition 7-inch of the set is now primed to arrive by year's end.

A press release explains that a vinyl pressing of 300 copies will arrive December 9 via UK imprint Faux Discx, who will also handle digital sales overseas. The band comprises Flegel and drummer Morgan Cook, who is described as supplying "straight and primal" beats to support the post-punk riffs of his bandmate.

While Nightstalker is said to feature a pair of "tantrums" that recall Harry Pussy, the set's "Knock on My Door" is described as "spectrally understated pop gem" similar to work from Women's sophomore LP Public Strain. You can hear the entire release in the player below.

Nightstalker:

1. Bobbi

2. Good Friday

3. Knock On My Door

4. Juanita

5. Desert Corpse
