Will.i.am Rips Off Boys Noize?

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 17, 2011

Considering Will.i.am's full-time gig, the Black Eyed Peas, have been accused of plagiarizing a number of artists of late, including George Clinton, it may not come as much of a surprise that solo work done by the pop rapper has come under fire for similar tactics.

Data Transmission reports that a new tune by Will.i.am's Zuper Blahq alter ego has allegedly pilfered from former Black Eyed Peas collaborator Boys Noize.

The song in question, "Dance," has an eerily similar synth throb as Boys Noize's "Yeah" single. You can check out both songs below to judge for yourselves.

A recent tweet from the German producer (born Alex Ridha) suggests Will.i.am neglected to contact him about using the music. "Used without permission!" Ridha wrote cryptically. Things got a little spicier after a Boys Noize rep told Transmission, ""Sorry, but I can't comment on this right now Boys Noize will make a statement when it's cleared."

Depending on how this plays out, today isn't going to be a good, good day for Will.i.am after all.

Thanks to FACT for the tip.
