Wild Love

'Wild Love' (album stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 29, 2015

Ottawa-based four-piece Wild Love are just about ready to drop their self-titled debut record, but before it officially lands, Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to it in its entirety.

The seven-track offering was recorded in February of this year at Pebble Studios in their hometown. The studio lineup consisted of guitarist/vocalist Adam Feibel, bassist Chase Patterson and drummer Mathieu Nadeau-Lemyre, though Patterson has since moved to France, with bassist Cody Coughlan and extra guitarist Nat Plamondon stepping in to fill the void.

The band draw from a variety of rock'n'roll styles, incorporating everything from noisy punk-tinged grunge to slower, more melodic elements of ambient post-rock. Wild Love's bio praises the band's "riotous riffs, haunting hooks, and soulful songwriting," and you can hear plenty of those on their debut effort.

From the blistering one-two punch of openers "Wonder" and "Lonely Road" to the slower-paced "Everyday Ache" to the distorted grunged-out "Saint of Saints," Wild Love delivers an array of styles that never cease to keep rock music alive and thriving.

The album is out on July 7, but you can give it an early spin in the player below right now.
