Having already made a legendary concert doc in Pompeii with his Pink Floyd bandmates in 1972, guitar god David Gilmour returned to the ancient city for a pair of shows last year, marking 45 years since his band's performance. Now, Gilmour is set to turn his two shows into a full-blown concert film.
David Gilmour Live at Pompeii was directed by Gavin Elder, bringing together footage from Gilmour's sets on July 7 and 8 last year. The feature will also air in theatres around the globe for one night only on September 13.
While the sets were primarily built around tracks from Gilmour's most recent solo LP's, Rattle That Lock and On an Island, the former Floyd axeman didn't forget to include a few classics from his band including "Comfortably Numb," "Wish You Were Here," "One of These Days" and "The Great Gig in the Sky."
