Over the past few years, the Velvet Underground's first three albums have received lavishly expanded 45th anniversary reissues. With 1970's Loaded turning 45 this year, it will also be getting an anniversary set, the details of which have now been unveiled. It will arrive on October 30.
The six-disc package includes the remastered album in both stereo and mono, plus various demos, early versions and alternate mixes from the era. There's also an unreleased concert recording captured in May 1970 in Philadelphia (this was a trio performance, as Mo Tucker was pregnant at the time).
A remastered version of Live at Max's Kansas City, which was recorded in August of1970 and released in 1972, is also included in expanded form. Finally, the package also includes an audio-only DVD with three different mixes of Loaded.
