Musical pioneers the Velvet Underground are set to release a deluxe reissue of their 1969 self-titled album later this month, and another track from the new collection has surfaced online.
We've already heard the early 1967 version of classic "I'm Waiting for the Man," but now fans can get another preview of the reissued material with "I Can't Stand It." The track would eventually appear as the opener on Lou Reed's 1972 self-titled debut solo album, but this early version is a softer, more bluesy take on the tune.
It comes from the fourth disc in the new collection — The 1969 Sessions — and features the full band. The Velvet Underground deluxe reissue will hit shelves on November 24 via Polydor/UMe, but you can give the early version of "I Can't Stand It" a spin below, right now.
