Merge Records has been highlighting its silver anniversary this year with a 7-inch series and a load of reissue LPs from the likes of Lambchop and Superchunk, but the celebrations don't stop at the source. A group of Ottawa-area outfits are now saluting their favourite label with a freebie comp, Merge Records: a 25th Anniversary Tribute.
The 15-song set finds artists like Bandeeto Colin, Dead Bees, Orienteers, Charlie Broughton and more putting their own spin on familiar tracks from the likes of Superchunk, saluted here on three different covers, Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel, Polvo and more.
