Yukon Blonde have big plans and have been making big changes in order to pursue them. Along with moving form Kelowna, BC to Vancouver and changing their name from Alphababy to Yukon Blonde, the band are now prepping their self-titled debut LP for a February 9 release via Bumstead Records.

The band recorded the new ten-track effort in Vancouver with producer Shawn Cole (You Say Party! We Say Die!, Bend Sinister), who also was behind Yukon Blonde's EP Everything in Everyway, which was released in October. According to the press release, "the band took inspiration from '60s rock harmonies, thick yet simple hooks, and depression-era furniture upholstery," leading to comparisons to Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby/Stills/Nash and America.

Following a recent 37-date tour across Canada, including stops at POP Montreal, Halifax Pop Explosion and CMJ, Yukon Blonde are again gearing up for an extensive U.S. and Canadian tour in February 2010 following the release of their new record. The date, however, have yet to be announced.
