Van Morrison Signs to RCA for Next Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 17, 2014

While Van Morrison's last album had the Irish fusionist claiming he had "no plan B," the veteran vocalist has announced he's switched things up by signing to RCA Records to deliver his next set of songs.

A press release didn't cough up too many details on Morrison's as-yet-untitled new record, but RCA confirmed that the artist is "currently finalizing work on his album," with the set expected to land sometime early in 2015.

"We are thrilled to have Van Morrison, the iconic musical visionary and legend, join the RCA roster," the label said in a statement. "He is one of the most prolific and talented songwriters and performers in music today, and we are honoured to have him join us at the label and work with him on his forthcoming new album."

The move to RCA follows Morrison's switch to  Blue Note Records a few years back, with that partnership having yielded 2012's Born to Sing: No Plan B.
