Aqua Alta
East Coast trio Aqua Alta are on a short run of Canadian dates this week in support of their recently released debut LP, Dreamsphere. The band's airy pop sound is one that will take you by surprise with its unique nuances; gentle melodies from vocalist Jenn Grant are supported by syncopated electronic beats and a variety of beautifully arranged synth and guitar sections. Caribou will be hitting Vancouver this week, playing two consecutive sets (early and late) at the same venue. Dan Snaith's brand of mellow, sample-heavy electronic music is richly textured with multiple layers of sound, and his live show is something to behold. Snaith's multi-instrumental performance will likely include tracks from his most recent LP, Our Love, alongside older favourites, so this is one not to miss.

Maryland rapper Logic will be stopping by the Great White North this week as a part of his "Under Pressure World Tour" with two back-to-back dates in Toronto. As the name suggests, the tour is in support of his recently released album of the same name, which has been met with a great deal of critical success. Logic's often heartfelt lyrics are a window into his life and past struggles and his delivery, along with his ability to work a large stage and crowd, are nothing short of impressive.

Cashmere Cat
Norwegian electronic producer Cashmere Cat will be in Toronto this week as a part of his lengthy North American tour. Known for his collaborations with artists like Ariana Grande and fellow producers like DJ Mustard, his own compositions reflect both pop and trap influences with floating melodies created using a variety of vocal and string samples. Expect to hear material from the EPs Mirror Maru and Wedding Bells.

Rah Rah
Upbeat indie-rockers Rah Rah are embarking on a stretch of Canadian dates this week. The band's shows late last year are a testament to the high energy of their live performances, complete with balloons and confetti cannons. California hardcore crew Trash Talk have been known for their cross-genre alliances with numerous hip-hop acts, and on their current North American tour the band will be bringing along New York unit Ratking. Trash Talk's most recent release, No Peace, is a grimy, lo-fi assault, and their live shows are loud, furious and untamed, as any good hardcore show should be.
