Toronto four-piece Survival Club are introducing themselves to the world of Ontario alt-rock with debut single "Feel Alive."
The heaviness of modern life can at times be a lot to bear, but what would you do if you were shaken from nihilistic paralysis by energetic riffing, major melody and a propulsive rhythm section? "Feel Alive" packs in all three, making the motivation to get up and make the most of your time in this "wonderful world" — like the name-checked Louis Armstrong once sang — come a little easier.
"There are exceptionally few of us, if any, who can change the world on their own," Survival Club share of "Feel Alive" in a statement. "The songs we've written for this band are often about feeling helpless and powerless in the grand scheme of things. They're about how we carry the weight of wanting to do something with our lives, to be better people, to make the world better in some way. 'Feel Alive' is about having the power to change at least one person's life for the better, and how that can make all the difference."
Survival Club comprises singer-songwriter/guitarist Adam Feibel (Fools of Love), lead guitarist Justin Smirlies, bassist Bryan Brocoy (brocoy) and drummer Tay Ewart (Like Pacific, Violet Night). (Disclosure: Feibel is an Exclaim! contributor.)
