The Tom Fun Orchestra Announce Canada-wide Tour, Share New Single

Nova Scotia's eight-member rock ensemble, the Tom Fun Orchestra, have announced they will return this summer with a national Canadian tour, starting will a July 27 kick-off show in Toronto. They also have a new single available to get fans excited about the trek.

Along with the Toronto date, Tom Fun Orchestra's Canadian tour will hit up such cities as Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal. The band, which feature violin, banjo, accordion and even trumpet, are said to have a "raucous stage presence and high-energy show," often being compared to other larger Canadian acts like Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire, while maintaing that their sound is more reminiscent of the Clash and Tom Waits.

"Miles Davis" is the Tom Fun Orchestra's first single release since their 2008 debut album You Will Land with a Thud and can be downloaded for free here.

Tom Fun Orchestra received musical recognition back home by winning the 2009 East Coast Music Award for CBC Galaxie Rising Star Recording of the Year, and won a 2010 ECMA for Best Music Video for "Bottom of the River." As previously reported, the video was also nominated for a UK Music Video Award in the same category as Coldplay.
