Titus Andronicus's latest release, The Monitor, is a loose concept album about the American Civil War. Still, you don't have to be an American history buff to appreciate the band's rowdy indie rock songwriting - just read our glowing review of the disc. Now, in the wake of the album's success, Titus Andronicus will again invite fans north of the 49 parallel to join in on the fun later this summer with a lengthy North American tour with several Canadian dates.
The band will cover a lot of ground, travelling to every corner of the U.S. and making three separate excursions north of the border (amounting to four Canadian shows). They will be heading to Toronto next month, later making their way out Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver. For the latter three shows, Titus Andronicus will be joined by Philadelphia power pop outfit Free Energy.
Whether or not you're familiar with the historical events detailed in the album's ten songs, this could be your best chance all summer to cut loose and dance to some raucous punk epics.
