Prince Edward Island songwriter Tim Chaisson is just 25 years old, but he's already got four albums under his belt and his fifth is on the way. Entitled The Other Side, it will be out on September 25 through Bumstead Records.
The 11-song album was recorded at the Woodshed Studio, the Toronto facility operated by Blue Rodeo. It was produced by Colin Linden (Bruce Cockburn, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings). According to a press release, The Other Side "blends Maritime roots and folk music with a lush yet minimal arrangement," making for a "intimate and heartfelt listening experience."
Chaisson said in a statement, "Having all of these talented musicians in the same room and letting the tape roll was pretty magical. This record is a result of us capturing the raw energy that is very hard to describe."
Lead single "Beat This Heart" is a duet with Serena Ryder, and while the studio version is still under wraps, check out a solo performance of the track in the video embedded below.
