After teasing their imminent return, the Mars Volta have revealed plans to collect their studio discography and some sought-after rarities for a massive new vinyl box set.

Arriving through Clouds Hill Recordings on April 23, La Realidad De Los Sueños will package the Mars Volta's debut EP and six full-length albums with a pair of new offerings.

Rarities collection Landscape Tantrums brings together unfinished original recordings of De-Loused In the Comatorium, while the box also features previously unreleased versions of "A Plague Upon Your Hissing Children" and "Eunuch Provocateur" that were recorded during De-Loused sessions.

The 18-LP set, limited to 5,000 units, also packs in a photo book with exclusive behind-the-scenes shots and a pair of pins. All LPs will arrive pressed on 180-gram black vinyl.

For vinyl-inclined Mars Volta listeners, La Realidad De Los Sueños is quite literally "the reality of dreams." Both original pressings and reissues of their studio catalogue have been continuously hard to come by in second-markets, unless you're comfortable paying exorbitant three-figure prices.

Further pre-order information for La Realidad De Los Sueños can be found here. The Mars Volta's most recent album remains 2012's Noctourniquet.
