Thanks to Hamilton and American Idiot, Broadway has had its hefty share of wienery educational hip-hop and pseudo-political mall punk, but what about theatrical post-emo? Fortunately, that Hot Topic-ready subgenre will finally get some stage time as the singer of Panic! At the Disco is headed to the Great White Way.

According to Playbill, Brandon Urie is set to make his major stage debut with a limited engagement in Kinky Boots. The singer of "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" will chime in with the role of Charlie Price from May 26 to August 6.

"I'm thrilled to be making my Broadway debut with this fantastic company," Urie said in a statement. "I'm a huge fan of Kinky Boots and musical theatre, and am honored to be joining this cast."

Here's hoping Urie approaches the role with a sense of poise and rationality.
