Tera Melos

"Echo on the Hills of Knebworth"

BY Scott A. GrayPublished May 17, 2011

Would you like to help one of the most inventive bands on the planet open for their idiosyncratic musical forebears? Tera Melos have been invited to play Ireland's Forbidden Fruit Festival alongside the Flaming Lips, Aphex Twin, Battles, Yo La Tengo, Caribou and a lot more.

Being ill-equipped to raise travel funds via a bikini car wash, the exuberantly experimental group have released a 51-minute improvisation culled from extra studio time from their Patagonian Rats sessions.

There's a $5 minimum donation to purchase the track called "Echo on the Hills of Knebworth" via the band's Bandcamp page, with all proceeds helping to pay for tour expenses. But if you'd like to listen before you buy, you can stream the loosely calculated insanity below.

While you have Melos on the mind, take a peek at the first trailer for an upcoming tour documentary of the group's recent trek around North America with Marnie Stern. Check out the impressive fretwork in an acoustic snippet of "Aped" and a montage of seemingly zany adventures below the track stream.
