Festival Internationale de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville

The 31st edition of Festival Internationale de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville, or FIMAV, will see Quebec celebrating contemporary music and art. The four-day festival is the largest event of its kind, boasting visual media and sound instalments in addition to the lineup of world-renowned musicians. Performers such as Deerhoof and Jean Derome, longtime member of Quebec's music scene, are among the artists appearing at the festival.

Milky Chance

German electro-folk duo Milky Chance are sharing their distinct style with Canada as part of their North American summer tour. The group will perform selections from their debut album Sadnecessary, including their new single, "Stolen Dance."

Pouzza Fest

Downtown Montreal will be overtaken by bands and punk-rock fans when Pouzza Fest hits the city this week. Over 200 bands, including Knapsack, the Planet Smashers and Pup will occupy eight venues throughout the week. The official event website reveals that Pouzza Fest is determined to throw "a huge party for everyone involved."

Primal Scream

U.K. legends Primal Scream will be playing alongside other alternative rock bands at Austin Psych Fest this summer, and they've extended their tour across North America. The Danforth Music Hall will host the Scottish band on May 15. With an extensive discography that reaches back to 1982, the band is sure to pull out some classic favourites and newer tunes alike to please fans.

Tame Impala

Australian-based psychedelic giants Tame Impala will be gracing the iconic Massey Hall with their sonic pop this week. Fans are anticipating teasers from the band's upcoming album Currents, to be released later in 2015, so this is one not to miss.

Timber Timbre

Canadian cinematic folk auteurs Timber Timbre are preparing to return to the West Coast as part of their summer tour. Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret will host the haunting melodies of the five-piece ensemble on May 20, with an encore performance the following night.
