It's currently spring, but Surfer Blood appear to be getting in the New Year's Eve spirit with their new video for "I Can't Explain."
The song is a sleepy, romantic track with lyrics that allude to New Year's Eve parties, and the video plays off this theme by showing the band performing which all sorts of goofy shenigans go on around them. There is a piñata, oversized tennis rackets, confetti, masks, Silly String and big climactic ruckus, with the whole thing appearing in the form of sped-up footage.
It was directed by Ates Isildak. Watch it below [via The A.V. Club].
"I Can't Explain" comes from Surfer Blood's new album 1000 Palms, due out on May 12 through Joyful Noise/Fierce Panda. Meanwhile, the band's guitarist Thomas Fekete is sadly raising funds for his cancer treatment.
See the band's upcoming tour schedule here. It includes a June 12 show in Vancouver.
