After the sparse acoustic ballads of last year's Benji, Mark Kozalek has picked up an electric guitar again for Sun Kil Moon's newly unveiled "Ali/Spinks 2."
The song last for nearly seven minutes and sports distorted electric plucking and a cacophonous instrumental break with atonal fretwork. Beyond that, it's not too much of a departure from what fans are used to, since dense poetry tumbles out of Kozalek's mouth with little regard to melody or cadence.
