Still Life Still Announce 'Mourning Trance'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 24, 2013

Last month, Toronto's Still Life Still hinted that their next record was on the way via the stream of new tune "Burial Suit," and now the act have revealed their plans in full. The upcoming LP, titled Mourning Trance, drops August 20 through Arts & Crafts.

A press release explains that the ensemble tracked the record in Toronto with producer Alex Bonenfant (METZ, Crystal Castles) and it came out of a year's worth of demoing. As previously reported, many songs were scrapped along the way, but the band ended up crafting 10 keepers for Mourning Trance. This includes "Burial Suit," which has now been fitted with a video that you can stream below.

"It's about breaking rituals and routines; how love can take you to strange, sometimes messed up places," vocalist Brendan Saarinen had previously explained of the song in a statement. "When we finished recording it, there was a weird vibe in the air, like we had started fresh but knew we'd always been there."

Still Life Still have a number of tour dates coming up, including a run of shows with labelmates Gold & Youth. You can see the concert info beneath Mourning Trance's tracklisting.
