Having announced plans for their new album The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte alongside their return to Island Records, brothers Ron and Russell Mael — a.k.a. Sparks — have mapped out a supporting world tour that will bring them to Canada this summer.
"We are thrilled to be back on tour again and to be able to share our joy with so many Sparks fans around the world," Sparks said in a release. "See you all soon! It's a Sparks show, a Sparks show, a Sparks show tonight!"
Running May to July, the global trek will begin with a round of shows across the UK, including Oxford, Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester and London. From there, the brothers Mael will trek across Europe, ending their cross-Atlantic run in Brussels on June 20 before heading back to the US for a run of North America.
That stretch of dates begins in New York City on June 27, after which Sparks will head to Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Boston before heading north of the border for their lone Canadian date at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall, fittingly, on July 1 — Canada Day.
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 3 at 10 a.m. local time following various presales that begin with tomorrow, January 31's Sparks Fan Club presale at 10 a.m. local.
