Sparkle Water / Family Video

Split Tape (EP stream)

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 31, 2016

Seattle label Lost Sound Tapes has dug into eastern Canada for its latest release, offering up a split cassette between Halifax, Nova Scotia's Sparkle Water and St John's, Newfoundland's Family Video. Today, Exclaim! is proud to premiere the entire release in full.

Sparkle Water's side offers up five blown-out pop punk blasts complete with hypnotic bass lines, sing-along melodies and fun guitar leads. Family Video's four songs are a little more pensive, leaning toward the mellow indie pop side of things. Together, the two bands create a tape that sounds like a missing K or Up release from the early '90s.

Listen to the new split from Sparkle Water and Family Video below. The release will land on June 3, and can be purchased here.
