Last week, Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche announced his upcoming self-titled album and its corresponding North American tour. With the press cycle just starting for the set, it's high time we heard some new music from the man. Enter newly leaked tune "Domino."
The track starts with an off-kilte,r eerie piano and acoustic guitar melody, but the track can't help but sound sweetened once Lerche starts up with his gentle timbre. Playing somewhat like a Vince Guaraldi Peanuts jingle, the jazzy number bounces along nimbly by the time the singer lets loose some falsetto in its chorus. Bringing the track back to its odd beginnings, a wild, fuzzed-out solo uncomfortably juxtaposes itself amongst the tenderness before screeching to a halt by song's end. Here's hoping the rest of the disc thrills as much as this song.
As previously reported, Sondre Lerche comes out June 7 on Mona Records.
