Montreal-based '90s rock enthusiasts Solids have impressed with some short-form releases over the last few years, and now they're finally ready to drop their debut full-length. Blame Confusion will be out on October 8.
The duo consists of guitarist Xavier Germain-Poitras and drummer Louis Guillemette, who cite bands like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and Superchunk as influences. They recorded the album with Adrian Popovich (Sam Roberts, the Dears) at Mountain City Studio in Montreal.
A press release notes, "The duo has understood that melody never shines as much as when it is forced to fight its way through many layers of distortion and feedback effects."
You can hear this noisy approach on the full-throttle single "Traces," which is streaming below.
The album is also available to pre-order on CD or vinyl right here.
