Montreal-based alt-rock duo Solids have been showcasing their penchant for melodic sludge rock for quite some time now thanks to a pair of releases and slots at Osheaga and SXSW. But now the '90s-loving two-piece are ready to enter the major leagues with their first-ever full-length, Blame Confusion, which you can stream in its entirety before release on October 8.
Following in the footsteps of fellow pop-minded noisemakers Japandroids and No Age, Solids guitarist Xavier Germain-Poitras and drummer Louis Guillemette exchange layers of punishing feedback ("Traces"), Dinosaur Jr.-evoking nostalgia ("Haze Away") and chugging punk rock (Sonic Youth-indebted scorcher "Cold Hands").
