Rory McClure fronts the British Columbia indie pop band Shimmering Stars, and now he's launched a new project. It's called Silver Matter and they just released their first song.
Not unlike Shimmering Stars, Silver Matter play noisy, lo-fi dream pop. Still, even admidst the shroud of distortion and DIY muck, "Punks Grown Up" has a gorgeous pop melody and paints a bittersweet portrait of rebellious punks who grow up and end up following a more conventional path.
The song can be streamed below, or purchased from Bandcamp for the very reasonable price of $999.
Silver Matter have a Vancouver show tomorrow night (June 27) with Fake Tears and Dungbeatles.
