If you're looking for the perfect gift for the Sigur Rós fan on your Christmas list, your prayers have been answered. The dream-weaving Icelandic group have just released a limited-edition box set version of their latest LP, Kveikur.
The album originally came out through XL Recordings back in June, and this box set splits it up into nine separate 12-inch records. Each of the nine songs appears on its own 45 rpm disc, with an instrumental version of the same track on the B-side. Since "Var" is already instrumental, that record features an etching on the flip.
The whole thing is packaged in a hard box with a lift-off lid. The record sleeves and inserts feature screen-printed artwork, and one of the two inserts is signed by the band. There are only 1,000 box sets in total, each of which is numbered.
