A dark and magical new video for the Shins' latest single, "The Rifle's Spiral," has premiered online. Jamie Caliri directed the clip featuring stop-motion animation reminiscent of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas or a creepier take on Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox.
One of the best moments (spoiler alert!) comes towards the end when a rabbit, a prop for a little girl's hat trick, takes vengeance on a bunch of stern Victorian-looking gentlemen. Check out the video for yourself below courtesy of Nowness.
"The Rifle's Spiral" is the opening track on Port of Morrow, the long-awaited follow-up to 2007's Wincing the Night Away, that was released earlier this year via Columbia/Aural Apothecary.
