Calgary R&B duo Shaani Cage recently dropped their excellent debut EP Danyaal, and now they're treating the tracks to visual videos. Following a clip for "Dance Community," the duo have released a clip for EP standout "Come Up."
While their previous video utilized a full crew and a grant from MuchFACT, the latest video is a testament to what one can do with an imaginative director and a non-existent budget. Here, filmmaker Henry Acteson helms the clip and the results are stunning.
The cinematic video follows Shaani Cage brothers Aleem and Kaleem Khan as they "come up" through less-than-legal means. The highly stylized cinematography works wonders here, and the clip also benefits from cameos from some of Calgary's up-and-coming electronic-scene movers and shakers.
