Alt-rock '90s hitmakers Semisonic have returned with plans for their first new material in nearly two decades — and today, they're offering up the title track from their forthcoming EP. Titled You're Not Alone, the record is scheduled to arrive on September 18 via Pleasuresonic Recordings.

"It was so fun and so inspiring to be back together and just make that sound that just comes out when we're playing," frontman Dan Wilson told Rolling Stone about the band's return from obscurity.

He continued: "When I wrote ['You're Not Alone'], a lot of people around me were feeling despair about our country and the state of the nation. A lot of people I knew were feeling like things were going to hell in a big hurry. And that was an inspiration for the song."

Semisonic's latest album, All About Chemistry, was released 19 years ago way, way back in 2001. Since their hiatus, the band haven't spent much time recording original material — but did kick off a series reunion shows back in 2017.

They are arguably best known for their 1998 hit "Closing Time."
