Second LP From Mysterious Canadian Artist Lewis Hits eBay

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jul 21, 2014

Decades after he first tried making music, enigmatic Canadian performer Lewis has been a talking point among record nerds in 2014. Thanks to his 1983 album L'Amour, which was reissued by Light in the Attic earlier this year after being discovered at an Edmonton flea market, Lewis's story has become stuff of legend. Now, another LP from the artist has emerged.

An eBay listing has surfaced for another Lewis album called Romantic Times. The release features eight more songs from the elusive artist.

The eBay user explains that they work at the same Calgary-based record store that discovered some sealed copies of L'Amour. This LP was found in the warehouse and is listed in mint condition.

"It sounds the same with the synth flowing over top of his incoherent voice. Brilliant," the user writes.

The LP also hints at more clues regarding Lewis's identity, as Romantic Times offers a full name of Lewis Baloue. The LP's cover once again showcases our hero, though this time he's enjoying a cigar in a white suit, while posing in front of a private jet.

The Lewis album on eBay is the only known copy of Romantic Times in existence. Here's hoping that whoever wins the auction will share it with the rest of the world in one way or another.

UPDATE: While the auction has surpassed the $1,700 mark, Light in the Attic has swooped in to announce that the label will be reissuing Romantic Times. You can get all the details of the release here.

UPDATE 2: For those thinking this is all a hoax, please see our update, as Lewis has been found.
