Seas Tease 'Cursed' LP with "All That I've Forgotten" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 12, 2018

Seas sees Moneen members Chris "Hippy" Hughes, Erik Hughes and Peter Krpan joining forces with Michael Bolt and Adrian Mottram, and the band will release their sophomore LP Cursed next month.

The nine-song set takes its name from Hughes' description of the year 2015 — which found him getting hit with "just one shitty thing after another," including being hospitalized following a serious accident.

Whereas Hughes took on most of the musical responsibilities on the group's debut album, he handed over the instrumental reigns to his bandmates on Cursed. "This time, I felt more comfortable writing the songs and then leaving them kind of bare to let the other guys make their marks," he explained.

Before the full album arrives on November 6 via Dine Alone, Seas have unveiled a brand new video for album cut "All That I've Forgotten."

"This was one of the first songs I wrote for this record, around 6 years ago when we were recording our last album," Hughes tells Exclaim! "Lyrically, it stems from nights of drinking too much and finding yourself the next morning with sufficient gaps in your memory, and the anxious feelings that come along with that."

"As the song evolved I found myself thinking of memory much more. We create new memories every day of our lives, and as we drift along so many old memories get pushed out and forgotten, and some things you just won't remember ever again," he added. "That led to the thought of, 'What if we could suddenly remember every single moment of our entire lives? Could our brains handle that? Would we go crazy?' That's kind of the evolution and thought process behind it."
