Montreal DJ/producer Half-truth showed off his penchant for pop sensibilities on last year's self-titled EP and now he's ready to reveal a new project going by the name Salvors — and Exclaim! is streaming their inaugural self-titled EP.
The group consists of Half-truth and Grand Rapids, MI, singer-songwriter London & Rome, and the new EP was forged over "overpriced beers" and an email-based songwriting club. The resulting chain of lyrics, voice memos, .wav and MP3 file exchanges over Google Drive and Slack morphed into a three-song EP.
Opener "Stuck in My Head" is an ironically dreamy number about losing sleep over a loved one and is followed by an homage to a closed-off partner in "Calculator." The set ends with a tune about a burgeoning romance set to a ukulele-fuelled hook, completing the trilogy of narrative-heavy tracks.
