Saint John, NB, is getting a new music venue called Haven Music Hall. Owners Abigail Smith and Sidney Foy will open the inclusive spot — which will operate as a cafe during the day — this fall.
Landing uptown at 201 Union Street, the pair have been "renovating the space for some months now" as they get ready to open. According to a press release, the Foy and Smith saw the need for a new venue, and harnessing what they've learned from their experience opening restaurants, working on music projects and doing festival venue management, decided they were the right ones for the job.
"We knew not only that it was the right time for a small, safety-focused music venue in Saint John but also that we can support each other professionally and personally through the most uncertain of circumstances," Smith said in a statement.
Smith and Foy are currently fundraising for an in-house PA system with a GoFundMe campaign seeking $15,000. You can check that out here.
