Said the Whale Announce 'New Brighton' EP

In addition to unveiling their CBC documentary and heading out on tour, Vancouver pop rockers Said the Whale have been dropping hints that a new album is on the way. Now, the group have confirmed the details of an EP to be released ahead of the forthcoming long-player. Entitled New Brighton, it's due out November 8 through Hidden Pony.

In a new update on the band's official blog, they revealed that the EP would include four new songs, which were recorded at Blue Wave and Vertical Studios in Vancouver. They were produced by Tom Dobrzanski, who previously helmed their 2008 disc Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia, and also pitched in on 2009's Islands Disappear.

Said the Whale wrote that these new tunes "were recorded alongside 19 other songs that will make up our full-length album, (due out early next year)."
