Juno-winning indie pop group Said the Whale will deliver their new I Love You EP next week, but you can stream it in advance right here.
It marks the first new release from the West Coast outfit since last year's Little Mountain LP and features three brand new tracks. The mini collection is timed perfectly to soundtrack the start of summer with its guitar-driven pop and catchy melodies.
In a statement, the group's Tyler Bancroft had this to say about their latest: "Our new EP, named for the title track 'I Love You,' is a sampling of three songs that will most likely appear on our full-length album, due out this fall. As this EP's release date is on the doorstep of summer, we chose the most upbeat songs from a collection of 17 tracks that we've recorded since we began work on the album in January. We hope you enjoy these summer jams, and we can't wait to share the rest of the album with you later this year!"
Said the Whale have a string of shows along the U.S. West Coast coming up, followed by a handful of appearances at Canadian festivals later in the summer. Get all the details on the tour dates over here.
As previously reported, the band are also celebrating summer with BC-based Townsite Brewing, who (in conjunction with CBC Music) have named a beer after the band.
I Love You arrives on June 4 via Hidden Pony, but you can spin the EP below right now.
