With a new month comes another 30-odd possible opportunities to see concerts. If you haven't gotten out to hear some live music yet, here are our picks for the week of March 6-12 to help get you to some great performances. As always, make sure to check our Concert Listings for more Canadian shows near you.

E-40

Coming off the recent release of his 18th album The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 4, 5 & 6 late last year and after dropping a few music videos, long-running Bay Area rapper E-40 will be performing a set at Club 9ONE9 in Victoria. The West Coast legend starts early, but bonus: included with the ticket is access to the after party.

03/07 Victoria, BC – Club 9ONE9

Angel Olsen

Americana songstress Angel Olsen will be stopping in Vancouver on her extensive North American and European tour. Having just released her second album, Burn Your Fire for No Witness, fans will be sure to hear quite a few cuts off the haunting new record.

03/06 Vancouver, BC – The Media Club

Rich Kidd

Toronto rapper Rich Kidd will be playing a couple of Ontario shows this week as part of his 5 Star Glow tour with JD Era. Rich Kidd was just recently nominated for a Juno award for his 2013 album In My Opinion, and also managed to be the only artist nominated that released their record independently. He's one of the most promising Canadian hip hop performers touring right now, and for only $15 per ticket, this one's a bit of a no-brainer.

03/07 Whitby, ON – Levels Club Lounge
03/08 Hamilton, ON – Club Absinthe

Royal Canoe

After the recent release of their sophomore album Today We're Believers and a successful fundraising campaign after an unfortunate van robbery, Royal Canoe will be through through Canada. Fans in Alberta and Saskatchewan will get a few chances to see the pop ensemble this week, and the band will be playing a show in Winnipeg at the end of the month.

03/06 Edmonton, AB – The Starlite Room
03/07 Calgary, AB - Republik
03/08 Saskatoon, SK – Louis' Pub

Trust

Joyland, the new album from electronic darklord Trust, is out this week. The wake of a new album is always an interesting time to see an artist perform, and Trust fans in Montreal and Toronto will get a couple of chances to see the Torontonian perform new music live this week.

03/07 Montreal, QC – SAT
03/08 Toronto, ON – Adelaide Hall

Young the Giant

2014 is an important year for American indie rock band Young the Giant: the band turns ten this year, and in late January, they released their second studio album, Mind Over Matter. What better way to celebrate a year like that than with a big ol' North American tour? Check out the band when they stop by Metropolis in Montreal and the Kool Haus in Toronto.

03/06 Montreal, QC – Metropolis
03/07 Toronto, ON – Kool Haus
