Red Hot Chili Peppers Taking New Album to a Cinema Near You

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 4, 2011

Eager to hear Red Hot Chili Peppers' new material live? You'll get your chance sooner than you thought.

On the same day as they release their long-awaited I'm With You on August 30, Red Hot Chili Peppers Live: I'm With You will be screened in cinemas all around the world.

Just like it sounds, this concert film will show the band performing the new album in its entirety, along with a selection of greatest hits. The high-definition flick will be shot the very same day in Cologne, Germany. It will reportedly be the only full performance of the album.

So where will the movie be screened? Unfortunately, we don't have the exact cities or cinemas yet, but if you head over to the film's website, you can see all of the countries that it's set to appear in. Sure enough, Canada is on the list.

A message on the site reads, "Cinema links will be live tomorrow, August 5th when tickets go on sale. Please check back then." So be sure to head over there tomorrow to see if this is coming to your home town.

Watch a trailer for the film below. Note that the footage from the clip comes from the 2003 DVD Live at Slane Castle.

I'm With You drops on August 30 via Warner Bros.
