Real Estate Bassist Alex Bleeker Announces Solo Debut

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 24, 2009

Though they've just released their must-have debut and have another EP planned before the end of the year, the members of New Jersey indie rockers Real Estate have still managed to find time for their side-projects. Guitarist Matt Mondanile has kept busy with his work as Ducktails, and now bassist Alex Bleeker has branched out with a new album.

Performing as Alex Bleeker & the Freaks, Bleeker recruited three-quarters of Real Estate to back him on his solo debut. The self-titled album features eight tracks and, if the video below is any indication, will be a pretty laid-back affair.

The album is due from Underwater Peoples on November 27.

Alex Bleeker & the Freaks:

 1. "Summer"

2. "Epilogue"

3. "Spring Jam"

4. "Animal Tracks"

5. "Prisoner of the Past"

6. "Dead On"

7. "Common Sense"

8. "Part 2"
