Since Rage Against the Machine reunited at Coachella in April, fans and music enthusiasts have been wondering if the performance was a one-off or a signal of their reunion. Though a statement has not been given confirming if they're back for good, the band have announced they will perform on August 24 at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI, with Queens of the Stone Age supporting.
Guitarist Tom Morello has said their motives for a reunion are political and not financial. "People never stopped offering RAGE shows throughout the whole seven years while the band was gone," he explained. "But we got together, and taking a look at the dire times that we live in and, you know, RAGE was certainly the most outspoken political voice in rock music throughout the '90s, I mean, I think it's long overdue that RAGE comes back and has a say."
