In case you didn't know, Joey Bada$$ dubbed the next stretch of days Pro Era week, and kicked things off right proper yesterday (February 25) with his sensual and jazzy "Wendy N Becky," but the rap troupe's Kirk Knight is the next in line, having dropped a new instro-beat called "Syncopated."
The beat eases into a hefty juxtaposition between a decadent bass boom and a soothing, hand-cranked lullaby melody. Following the entrance of some ethereal synths, Knight begins to chop, flip and manipulate his work into an altogether woozy tapestry of sounds.
Would it be better with a verse from Pro Era spitters like Bada$$, A La Sole or Knight himself? Possibly, but the instrumental should do for now. The real question is: what's in store for Wednesday?
As previously reported, Bada$$ and Pro Era hit up Canada on their spring "Beast Coast Tour," with stops scheduled in Whistler, Vancouver, Montreal, Hamilton, and Ottawa, as well as in Toronto for NXNE.
