Pro Era

"Extortion"

Coming off of last February's The Secc$ Tape, New York rap young'uns the Pro Era are now gearing up for the release of a Scion A/V-sponsored freelease called The Shift. The first taste of the project brings together the crew's Kirk Knight and Dyemond Lewis, who flex tha O.G. Swank on new tune "Extortion."

In addition to his bars, Knight gives up the beat, with backwards-masked ambient washes stirring things up before a heavy boom drops us into the tune proper. Verbally, Knight and Lewis detail dreamscapes where life is not what it seems, staying sane while living in a world full of sinning, blocking chakras with vodka, and more.

The rest of the tape is said to also feature contributions from Joey Bada$$, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, A La Sole, Dessy Hinds, Chuck Strangers, Powers Pleasant and the 47s (Dirty Sanchez, Rokamouth, J.A.B and Jak The Rhymer).

The Shift drops May 27, but you can catch "Extortion" down below.
