Plaid Announce North American Tour, Share New Video

British IDM pair Plaid just released their album Reachy Prints today (May 20) through Warp, so it makes complete sense that they've now rolled out a video and booked a North American tour.

The outing takes place in July, when the duo will play a smattering of U.S. shows, plus a single Canadian date in Vancouver. See the schedule below.

Scroll past that to watch a clip for the futuristically mellow album cut "Wallet." The accompanying video looks a bit like an anachronistically retro MP3 visualizer, since it mixes dreamy colour gradients with VHS-style visual noise.

Director Sabrina Ratté said in a statement, "The video is inspired by the idea of creating a world based on memories, where things seem real but they are in fact a construction of the mind. All the images are made from electronic signals, from which were created a reproduction of a sun, different landscapes and cities. The musical composition induced the vision of bright colours and daylight atmosphere, so the simulated sunlight became a central element of the video, thus creating dazed images where everything is diffused and hard to grasp."

The band also have some European dates on the horizon. See their schedule here.

Tour dates:

07/03 Chicago, IL - Lincoln Hall
07/06 Los Angeles, CA - The Roxy
07/10 Austin, TX - The Parish
07/11 San Francisco, CA - 1015 Folsom
