Pharrell's Grammy Hat Bought by Arby's for $44,100

Pharrell Williams may not have picked up an Oscar award last night (March 2), but he was surely happy to learn that his now-famous Mounties-style hat was auctioned off at charity over the weekend to the tune of $44,100. The winners of the headwear? That would be the hat-approving people at sandwich chain Arby's.

The Vivienne Westwood-designed hat, which Pharrell wore earlier this year at the Grammys, was put up on auction at eBay to raise funds for the artist's From One Hand to AnOTHER , which puts money into youth programs around the U.S.

Ahead of last night's Oscars, Pharrell thanked the winners, which in turn yielded a pun-heavy response from the roast beef slingers referencing his "Happy" single while pointing out the similarities between their prize and their familiar, hat-adorned corporate logo.

As previously reported, "Happy" lost out last night in the Best Original Song category to Frozen's "Let It Go," written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. "Happy," meanwhile, appears on Pharrell's new solo set G I R L, which lands today (March 3) through Columbia Records.
