The Pastels are just under two months away from the May 28 street date of their new Slow Summits LP , but you can hear the twee pop troupe's new tune "Check My Heart" ahead of schedule.
After starting off with a punchy drum break, the song jumps into a blue-eyed soul arrangement, with a slightly fuzzy guitar wrapping itself around soft and shushed boy/girl trade-offs about falling into one another's arms.
You can stream the song below. "Check My Heart" will be released on 7-inch on April 29 with the B-side "Illuminum Song."
As previously reported, the nine-song Slow Summits, which arrives via Domino, was recorded in Glasgow by John McEntire (Tortoise, Sea & Cake) and Bal Cooke, and mixed in Chicago by McEntire.
