New York-via-Chicago indie pop unit Outside World release their debut self-titled LP today (November 13), and to mark the occasion, Exclaim! is offering you the first listen to a brand new album cut called "This Ocean."
The self-released record was made with producer Riley McMahon at New Warsaw Studio in Brooklyn and hears Outside World channelling an array of influences into their own sound.
"Our goal as musicians is to compose music in a similar spirit to the artists who inspire us as opposed to borrowing ideas directly from their music," the band said in a statement. "Our hope is that this results in something unique."
The track bubbles with upbeat jangly guitar, a plucky bass line and a chorus drenched in hazy vocal harmonies, delivering a dose of what to expect from the full-length effort. Get acquainted with the band's debut by listening to "This Ocean" in the player below.
