Ohbijou Robbed in Montreal

We're sorry to report that Toronto chamber pop collective Ohbijou are the latest in a long line of bands to have their gear stolen while out on the road. According to a blog post by violinist Jenny Mecija, the incident occurred in Montreal on Thursday night (November 5) while the group were playing a set at Club Lambi. Luckily, most of the gear was in the club with the band, but the thieves who broke into the van got away with clothes, a rack tom and a violin, as well as personal items including a notebook and letters.

Thankfully, the incident will not set back Ohbijou on their current Canadian tour in support of the critically acclaimed new album Beacons. Despite having to replace the van windows, the band still made it to Kingston for their show the next evening.

Previous victims of Montreal's prolific thieves include, but are not limited to, the Dears, Iggy and the Stooges and the Black Halos.
