It looks as if the members of Ohbijou are making sure recently released sophomore effort Beacons shines like its title. How, you ask? Well, by leaving their home base of Toronto, ON in October to embark on a Canada-wide fall tour.
With stopovers in nearly 20 cities from coast to coast, the seven-piece will touch down in such locales as Halifax, Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver. Oddly enough, it wasn't until front-woman Casey Mecija moved to Toronto to attend university that she considered playing her songs to a real audience.
"I was still very shy with music and didn't really want to invest that much time in it," Mecija told Exclaim! in our August cover story. "But as I went and saw more shows and saw what music existed in Toronto, I started to want to play it more."
And if the listing of fall tour dates in any indication, "play it more" they shall.
