Nardwuar went down to SXSW last week and, as he often does, spent some time handing out gifts mid-conversation with a number of artists. One of the early leaks from his trip is a 10-minute interview with rising Brooklyn rap crew the Pro Era.
A number of the Beast Coast kids were on hand for the chat, including Joey Bada$$, A La $ole, Dessy Hinds, Nyck Caution and Dirty Sanchez. While the Nard tries to get de facto leader Bada$$ to rap for a double-LP set of DOOM's Operation Doomsday, the most vocal of the bunch is beatmaker Chuck Strangers, who cracks wise about the unpaved roads of his parents' native Granada, gets into a back and forth with the Tam-sporting journo about why his dick is as big an event as going out to the opera, his hate for Dem Franchize Boyz, and the benefits of having '70s soul queen Millie Jackson's Feeling Bitchy in your arsenal.
You can peep the interview down below.
As previously reported, Pro Era head to Canada later this week on their "Beast Coast Tour," with upcoming show stops scheduled in Whistler, Vancouver, Montreal, Hamilton, and Ottawa, as well as in Toronto for NXNE.
